Learn about OpenX
OpenX is a web3 news aggregator and social network. It brings together fresh news, ideas, and conversations about web3, tech, and AI.
It’s a place to stay informed, share your perspective, and discover people creating useful content.
Keeping up shouldn’t mean scrolling through endless posts.
OpenX aims to reduce the information noise on platforms like X and Reddit. We bring together relevant content from reliable sources and let you adjust your feed around your interests.
For investors, we aim to show more signal and less noise: fresh news, important developments, and useful context for understanding what’s happening across markets and technology.
The goal is to make relevant information easier to find and conversations easier to follow.
Web3 is the idea of a more decentralized internet, built partly on blockchains.
In simple terms:
- Web1: You mostly read websites.
- Web2: You read, post, and interact on platforms like YouTube and Instagram. The platform controls the system and its rules.
- Web3: You can own certain digital assets and use them through your own wallet, sometimes across different applications.
For example, a web3 game might let you hold an in-game item in your wallet and trade it outside the game.
On OpenX, web3 supports wallet-based sign-in and the creator payments we’re developing.
Anyone can post on OpenX. To get started, sign up with your email address or connect a supported Solana wallet, such as Phantom or Solflare, and choose a username. If you want to earn through reader tips, paid content, or subscriptions, you’ll need to connect a supported Solana wallet to receive payments.
A wallet is an app you use to manage digital assets and connect to web3 applications. On OpenX, you can use it to sign in, verify wallet ownership, and receive creator earnings. You don’t need a wallet to post with an email account.
We’re building ways for creators to earn through reader tips, paid content, and subscriptions. Creators will be able to share public posts, publish free previews, and reserve selected content for paying subscribers.
Payments will primarily use USDC on Solana. USDC is issued natively on Solana and is designed to track the US dollar, making subscription prices easier to understand. SOL, Solana’s native currency, can also be offered for tips. About USDC on Solana
Web3 payments can help creators reach and receive support from a global audience.
Benefits include:
- Global access: Readers and creators can connect through compatible wallets across borders.
- Global creator earnings: Creators can receive on-chain payments without needing a US bank account.
- Control over funds: Payments arrive in the creator’s own wallet.
- Transparent payments: Transactions can be independently verified on the blockchain.
Payment availability and converting earnings into local currency still depend on local rules and services.
Our aim is simple: help people find useful information and help creators earn directly from the readers who value their work.
